Zinfandel was planted in these areas, known to many as “the home of Zinfandel,” by Italian and Swiss immigrants whose families still tend those vineyards today, using the same sustainable farming methods their parents and grandparents used. A variety that was once used widely as a home winemaker’s grape, Zinfandel, when blended with Carignan or Mourvedre becomes full, spicy, and packed with juicy berry notes.
Our Zinfandel from Mendocino is a pure varietal expression of red and black fruit, with a hint of black pepper and a concentrated finish. We also look to single vineyards in the Russian River and Dry Creek appellations that showcase the richness and distinction of those places.
