This delightful creature is a relaxed generous mid weight wine.
The two components for this blend are grown on similar alluvial river derived soils but occupy territory some three hours drive apart.
The dominant component is Syrah from the Gimblett gravels area on the north westen fringe of Hawkes Bay, a high density planting
of lovely vines looking slightly more relaxed in a year with some rains at harvest.
The second component is closer to home, it’s Pinot Noir from the Cirrus vineyard we farm ourselves, to this component we embrace a
degree of whole bunch ferment to drive botanic threads and spice. As one this wine finds its harmony, a core of generous juicy fruit, supple tannic frame and finely threaded spice
