This blend is dominated by deep press fractions of Cabernet Sauvignon and is reminiscent of a “Left Bank” Bordeaux-style wine. Optimum balance and character are achieved through the addition of free-run and press fractions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Fine, dense tannins give this wine great structure and long-term ageing potential. The name Magna Praemia is latin for “great rewards.”
74% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 3% Malbec
Spicy star anise and primary bramble fruit on the nose with a slight tinge of peppercorn and dried herb aromas lingering.
This extremely low cropped 2014 harvest resulted in intense concentration and robust wines that will reward patients unlike no other previous vintage. This richly textured wine with tremendously powerful structure disguises an array of intricate flavours resembling dark plum and liqourice. Extreme length with hints of spicey dried raisons and currents.
Last tasted June 2017. Already delicious, however will require some time (15-25+ years) to reach optimum drinking.
Please Note : Label slightly damaged. Due to ram ride.
