This superb Bannockburn wine is our best discovery from Central Otago. The 2020 scored 5 stars from Inside Burgundy alongside Central Otago wines of $100. Owner Steve Davies made wine for Carrick and Akarua before developing his own vineyard. This wine has quality and pedigree to burn, with a place in the offical NZ Fine Wine List and an average Bob Campbell score of almost 96 points (a category where average prices are $80 a bottle). Subtly powerful and refined in the glass, its darkish fruit is finely packed around a supple core of depth, freshness and mineral layering. A big leap over other Central Pinot at the price, drink this now or cellar it a good while
