Description
The Moillard-Grivot displays its Meursault origins – creamy full nose with hints of almond and dried fruits. It’s bolder than I expected for the vintage and textural. Sophisticated with an elegant mid-palate that’s not heavy but nicely concentrated with touches of marzipan & nectarine skin. There’s dried apricot notes too and a lovely mouthfeel with well integrated acidity and a satisfyingly dry finish.
The grapes come mainly from parcels located in the Mâconnais, providing very rich and ripe grapes from vines aged 15 to 40 years. The soil is limestone, rich in calcium.
Pressing and settling is done directly by vine growers who have been M.G’s partners for many years. The best musts are then blended to craft a Bourgogne Chardonnay that is powerful, elegant and fresh.
