Gracias a Dios Madre Cuishe is made with Maguey Madre Cuishe (Agave Karwinskii) in Santiago Matatlan, Oaxaca. The agave used in this mezcal took approximately 13 years to reach maturity and were harvested from the San Pedro Mixtepec region of Oaxaca. The agaves were cooked in an underground pit oven, fermented in pine-wood tubs, and double distilled in copper. This mezcal is earthy and herbal, smokey with notes of caramelized sugar.
