Description
An immediately charming wine, this Italian stalwart plays beautifully in Waiheke’s. A rich and generous style of wine, it’s very densely fruited, much like a great Syrah, but with a rustic, meaty edge that makes you hanker for a pizza. This Obsidian Montepulciano will be a serious hit with Kiwi wine lovers.
Tasting Notes
Appearance-Deep garnet.
Bouquet-Aromas of ripe plum, star anise and underlying savoury characters.
Palate-A full-bodied wine with abundant ripe tannin and soft mouth-filling fruit.
Cellaring-Approachable now but will reward careful cellaring for up to 10 years.
