Aromatic Pinot Gris with texture and richness. From the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, perfectly ripened fruit is handled carefully to preserve the delicate aromas, fruit purity and freshness. Nashi pear and Golden Queen peaches are complimented by subtle fermentation characters of grilled nectarine and custard. Following fermentation, some time on yeast lees contributes creamy texture but also inviting bread and baked apple flavours. The resulting fullness is lifted by crisp acidity that is in turn softened by a touch of residual sweetness – a harmonious balance. This is cool-climate Pinot Gris at its best with many facets and shows that purists need not always be conformists.
