If you remember Rob’s ‘Daydreamer’ Sangiovese Rosé the nose on this one will send you straight back to it. 7 days Carbonic maceration, all in stainless steel. Bright, almost candied on the nose, but savoury, dry, slightly earthy on the palate. Incredibly sapid.

At Unkel, we give our utmost care and respect to the organic fruit that has been provided to us by Mother Nature and her land. We like to do the most we can in the vineyard to ensure the best possible raw product is available to use.
Rather than being that hands on, overbearing, parent figure. You can think of us more like that cruisy, fun, slightly wild uncle in your life. We allow the wine to do the talking, leading their own life through ageing in the winery and giving what we believe is the best possible expression of the original fruit. Unkel wine is only intervened with in the winery when totally necessary. The rest of the time we let the unique flavours and quirks that come with a minimally intervened wine shine through.
In early 2019, we moved our operations from Victoria, Australia to Nelson, NZ.
It’s been our dream since the inception of Unkel in 2016, that we could have the opportunity to farm our own fruit on land that our roots are embedded and we are truely connected to.
We are beyond excited to be doing this in Nelson where we are farming a 4.75 hectare block and doing so organically.
