Description
MOURVEDRE, CARIGNAN
The Wine
A powerful and authentic wine, with silky tannins.
The Terroir: the Sandstones of Boutenac in Boutenac
A northwest-facing hillside, on thin, highly stony limestone soils. A terroir with high quality potential, classified as Cru Boutenac, and located mainly at the top of the slope where Carignan is at its most expressive. Mid-slope, Mourvèdre finds its place.
The tasting
A deep purple color. A nose of garrigue and wild berries. A dense, straightforward, balanced palate with silky tannins. Serving temperature 18 to 20°C, cellaring 10 years. Enjoy with duck breast, meats in sauce, or game.
