Description
Chateau Haut La Greniere Lussac Saint Emilion
70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5 % Cabernet Sauvignon
The origin of Château La Grenière dates back to the XVIIth century and has belonged to the family of Mr. Dubreuil for four generations. The quality of the wine is due to its location on a plateau, very well positioned, and to the diversity of the grounds: some with an argillaceous base, elsewhere lighter with clayey-limestone or gravelly grounds with traces of iron.
Taste
A complex, rich, pleasurable wine with a beautiful crimson color.
An elegant, spicy nose with notes of cinnamon, pepper, liquorice and red fruit. Round and crisp on the palate, with power without excess.
Aging
In concrete and stainless steel vats with a method of racking followed for 18 months.
The Dubreuil family’s five-acre Château Haut la Grenière vines deliver this dark hued and solidly textured wine. The dark chocolate aroma promises well, leading to juicy acidity and some bold tannins. It will be a fine wine, ready to drink from 2027. — Roger Voss
