Description
3.3hectare located on the famous limestone terroir of Saint Emilion, between the famous Chateau Canon, Clos Fourtet and Beausejour Becot. Chateau Le Chatelet is a little gem owned and ran by the Berjal Family for 5 generations. Julien Berjal, known as “ the Gardener”, has took the Chateau to a new level. One of the few Bordeaux wineries to begin conversion to organic viticulture, Julien also attained the esteemed ranking of “Grand Cru Classe” back in 2012.
Grapes: 80% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 40 to 60years old vines
Terroir: Limestone soil
Winemaking: Fermentation in oak barrel of the best plot. 18 months ageing, 50% new oak.
