The Loosen family has been growing Riesling and producing wine in the Mosel valley for over 200 years. Ernst “Erni” Loosen, assumed ownership of his family’s estate in 1988 and embarked on a quest to greatly improve the quality and international reputation of the estate, the Mosel region, and Riesling in general. Along his journey to spread the word about his wines and Riesling in general he developed the Dr. L brand to be an ambassador for the Mosel at an approachable price.
Tasting Notes:
The dry counterpart to Dr. L Riesling, this wine is produced with the same exacting quality standards. Because it is dry, but still beautifully fruity, this wine works with a different range of foods than the regular Dr. L Riesling, making the pair of wines extremely versatile. Dr. L dry embodies the elegant and racy style of Riesling from the slate-soil vineyards of the Mosel valley.
