Description

Velar Cannonau di Sardegna DOC is a vibrant and characterful red from the island of Sardinia, crafted from 100% Cannonau – one of the Mediterranean’s oldest and most widely planted native varieties. Sourced from vineyards around Mogoro in the province of Oristano, the wine reflects a landscape shaped by sun, sea breezes and a mix of coastal and slightly elevated sites that bring both ripeness and freshness.

Cannonau is the Sardinian expression of Grenache, known here for producing wines with warmth, softness and a distinctly savoury, herbal edge. Traditional winemaking techniques, combined with modern precision, preserve the grape’s natural fruit character while ensuring balance and drinkability. The result is a wine with supple tannins, moderate structure and a strong sense of place.

This is a generous yet elegant red – smooth, expressive and infused with Mediterranean character – well suited to hearty dishes, grilled meats and aged cheeses.
